The scalloped edge is the hallmark of one of Mendini's designs from the Alchimia period in the early 1980s, which was then made by craftsmen and then only in a few dozen examples. Since 1997 this design has been produced by Alessi in trays and baskets, with a harmonious combination of form and function.
