The name Jane reflects the pronunciation of the Chinese word for a bamboo mat, which has served as writing paper for centuries. In the past, this mat featured a series of connected bamboo slates. This tray was designed as part of the (Un)Forbidden City line of 8 products created by the best 8 architects from China. The finished product resembles Jane, however the bamboo slates have been replaced with golden anodised aluminium elements. Even so, just like the original, this tray is foldable for easy transportation.
