Meduse is a bowl made of Lecce stone, designed and created by the artist Andrea Serra.

Inspired by the elegant movements of delicate primordial creatures, this artwork captures their essence with sinuous shapes that beautifully balance the interplay of light and shadow.

The sculpture is thoughtfully designed to be waterproof, allowing the addition of water to create a captivating focal point with floating candles, fostering a relaxing atmosphere. It serves as a stunning center piece that enhances any space. Crafted entirely by hand, this sculpture is meticulously carved on a unique stone that can only be found in the lower Salento region of the province of Lecce. This stone, with its marine origins, is enriched with fossils of plants and animals, adding an intriguing dimension to the artwork.

As with all of Andrea Serra's works, Meduse bowl sculpture is one-of-a-kind and bears the artist's signature, carefully engraved for authenticity. It is part of a limited collection of 20 works for the year 2023, ensuring its exclusivity.

Please note that due to the handmade nature of each piece, there may be slight variations from the provided photo. The base of the sculpture is engraved with the date and number of the work, further highlighting its limited edition status.

Creazioni Serra

Sculptor and designer, Andrea Serra was born in 1981 in Lecce, Puglia. From a very young age, he was exposed to the world of beauty through his grandfather, a wood sculptor and painter, and his mother, an art teacher. His eyes were nourished daily, and his small hands began to display graceful movements, shaping and sculpting various materials. With overwhelming creativity and a boundless love for sculpture, Andrea achieved significant milestones and experienced small but meaningful satisfactions early on. One such achievement was his first exhibition, where he proudly showcased uniquely crafted stone animals.

Currently, Andrea resides and works in a splendid open-air workshop located in the countryside, allowing him to maintain a constant connection with nature, which serves as his guiding force in creating his works. During his journeys, Andrea Serra becomes captivated by vibrations and unseen lines, which he accentuates in his creations. He allows himself to be carried away by emotions and feelings, finding inspiration untainted by the fast-paced and materialistic world that surrounds us.
